FAQ

Does Microblading hurt?

There will be some discomfort however this is entirely manageable and I will ensure that you are comfortable throughout the treatment. You are welcome to take breaks if required. The use of anaesthetic cream prior to the treatment, and during, is recommended. Once the area has been numbed, most clients describe the feeling as a “scratch.”

What do I need to do to prepare for my appointment?

If you have an idea of the kind of shape and colour you are looking for, please bring photographs to your appointment. Please wear your usual daily makeup on the day of the treatment. Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen or coumadin for two days before and two days after the treatment. However, you must not discontinue any prescribed medication before consulting your doctor.
Do not drink alcohol 24 hours prior to the treatment or smoke immediately before the treatment. Do not use sunbeds and avoid natural sun exposure for two weeks before and two weeks after treatment. Refrain from waxing your eyebrows at least 48 hours before treatment. Refrain from having electrolysis five days before treatment and eyebrow tinting seven days before treatment. You will receive an instructions booklet prior to treatment.

How long does the treatment take?

The time spent microblading both brows is around 40 minutes to one hour. The whole appointment will last up to 2 hours.

What will my brows be like immediately after microblading?

The colour of your brows will be 50 per cent darker immediately after the treatment, so please do not be alarmed by this! The colour will lighten after four to seven days. The true healed colour result will not come through until 4 to 6 weeks after treatment. The brow area may be tender and slightly red at first. You will receive an aftercare booklet with instructions to ensure the brows heal properly. You will be asked to avoid getting them wet, exercising, having sunbeds/sunbathing and applying creams other than the healing balm I will provide. There may be some itching, which is normal. Please do not pick or scratch at the eyebrow area as this may result in colour healing unevenly and risk scarring and infection.

How long does microblading last?

Typically pigment will fade after 12 to 18 months, however this very much depends on your skin type, age and sun exposure. If you have oily, aging or tanned skin it is likely to fade much faster. I recommend a colour booster at 12 to 18 months. This will be half the price of your original appointment. Booster appointments booked after 18 months will be charged at full price. Clients should be aware that although pigment fades, it does not always disappear completely.
